FILM Homages Feel-Good House Music On EP ‘Miwonowi’

FILM recently released a 5-track debut EP ‘Miwonowi’ on the Remmah Records imprint. ‘Miwonowi’, the EP follows the single of the same name and includes 3 tracks that capture the energy of the classic Boo Williams Productions, infusing them with the cosmic and starry-eyed energy that ties together all Remmah releases. In addition to the 3 original tracks, there's a remix by DART, from Dublin’s extended Remmah family.

Sudan’s production pays homage to electronic house music and the mood of the EP has a stripped-down quality with groove being central to the theme. “The whole EP is a representation of all the great feel-good house music I love. It is my homage to a great time of raving followed by the never-ending after-hours.”, says Sudan. In ‘Miwonowi’, the producer incorporates a primary percussion sample from an ancient German Afro/Dub band, with the intention of recontextualizing it within a fresh musical setting. ‘Living With Sound’ offers an enjoyable spin on UK House and features a vocal sample for euphoric peaks. Interestingly, ‘Polly’ recorded in a single take, captures the essence of sunny winter mornings in Delhi. Finally, ‘Shredder’ is energetic, with distorted synths that give the EP the depth it aims for.
