Call For Applications: ‘The Experience House’ At Khoj

14 June 2016

Delhi based Khoj International Artists' Association invites artists working across mediums of visual art, theatre, music, literature, architecture and more to apply for month long residency program - 'The Experience House', which is set to take place from 15 October to 15 November later this year.

The program aims to create two large-scale immersive spaces in and around Khoj studios. As Khoj points out on their website, immersion isn’t a new concept, and has found iterations across cultural history in mediums ranging from stream of consciousness literature to contemporary virtual reality video games.

“It is a means of making the viewer a witness and participant in the event, the show, the spectacle, in the most involved manner, blurring all traditional boundaries between the actor and the spectator, the watcher and the watched. The modes of immersion can be varied, through fashion and costumes, through scripted spectatorship models or even technological innovation in creating virtual reality spaces.” – Khoj

Applications are open for any practitioners within the field of visual art, music, sound, literature, architecture etc. If you’re interested, you can send in your applications to applications@khojworkshop.org with "Applications for The Experience House" in the subject line. It must include a project proposal, approximate breakdown of budget, images, a detailed write up and video of work in progress and a CV.

More information available here on Khoj’s website. Follow them on Facebook for updates. The last day to apply is 31 July, 2016 so make sure you send everything in on time.
