REProduce Artists To Present South Asia Showcase At SXSW

14 March 2016

Delhi based booking agency and music collective REProduce Artists will be curating a South Asia focussed showcase at South by Southwest (SXSW). The annual event has been running since 1987 and features film, interactive media, music festivals and conferences that take place in Austin, Texas, United States.

This isn’t the first time REProduce Artists have taken South Asian talent to the festival – acts who have previously represented this chunk of the world include late acid house pioneer Charanjit Singh, DJ HVAD, Sandunes, Heems and Hashback Hashish (who’s made multiple trips to the event by this point).

2016’s REProduce showcase at SXSW will take place this week on 18 March and will feature a number of artists representing South Asia and its Diaspora, spanning rap, footwork, techno, jazz, and “the unclassifiable”.

Artists include producer and musician Ravish Momin (USA), electronic music group Madame Gandhi (USA), Canadian ‘desi rapper’ Horsepowar, Pakistani duo Saturday Night Killing Machine (Talal Qureshi x Adil Omar), footwork prodigy Iyer (India/Singapore) and our very own Hashback Hashish.

The showcase will take place on 18 March at Speakeasy Kabaret in Austin, Texas. Follow REProduce on Facebook for details and visit their events page for updates. Head over to SXSW’s website for more information.
