Essential Business Skills Heads To Mumbai, Delhi & Bangalore This Week

18 January 2016

Essential Business Skills is a new initiative we began in November last year in collaboration with Social Offline and The Coalition. The free workshop series is designed to educate and prepare creative entrepreneurs for the current business environment.

So far, Essential Business Skills has held a number of successful workshops that have covered everything from the legalities of starting and running a new business, to how to make the perfect PPTs, and successfully utilise social media. The series will be back in New Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore with workshops set to take place this coming week.

New Delhi will learn how to get their business noticed in the right way by the media and stand out from the crowd with ‘Impress The Press’ – a PR workshop conducted by City Press’ Ruhi Batra at Hauz Khas Social. The event will teach participants how to write an impactful press release, create a relevant network of contacts in the media, communicate effectively with the press and much more. Make sure you register on time on Insider if you’re interested in attending.

The series travels to Todi Mill Social in Mumbai this weekend on 23 January for a workshop on an integral part of running a business – taxes. One of the more seemingly boring, hard and scary parts of running a business is also one of its most important aspects – and something most start-ups struggle with in the beginning. Desai & Kinare Chartered Accountants demystify the numbers by relaying the basics of tax under Indian law, how to make sense of business finances and file your taxes. Register here on Insider if you’re interested in attending.

Bangalore’s Church Street Social will witness a workshop with Gaurav Vaz, who will demonstrate how to use basic online tools to build a website without having prior knowledge of HTML and coding language. The workshop will teach you how to properly employ web friendly design templates, help you understand the basic framework and layout for a website and how to maintain a consistent SEO. Register here to attend.

All three workshops are free and we strongly recommend young entrepreneurs attend if they can. Head over to Insider to register.
