High Chai Recordings Release Sub Continental Bass Vol. 2 With 3 Free Tracks

21 October 2015

New York based independent label High Chai Recordings has been churning out some great compilations from India’s top electronic artists since 2009 in their ‘dimmSummer Presents’ series. dimmSummer, who is one of the founding DJs and producers of the label (along side FILMI and Cenzo), is all set to release his final curated compilation for the label - Sub Continental Bass Volume 2, on 26 October.

To mark the occasion, High Chai Recordings is also giving away 3 tracks from the compilation for free, exclusively via Wild City. There’s the heavy, frantic sound of ‘SRND’ by very promising trap talent Sidd Arta, earworm banger ‘King Kong’ by Bass Against The Machine and, for a bit of contrast, the much softer ‘Bask’ by Aging Aeroplanes, which features Hindi vocals and closes the otherwise largely dancefloor oriented album.

We also recommend you check out the whole album when it’s out this coming Monday. We had the opportunity to listen to it early, and Sub Continental Bass Volume 2 certainly delivers the bass heavy, riotous sound it promised to bring.

“It landed in the summer of 2011, an earth-rumbling bass odyssey featuring High Chai label alumni Liquid Stranger, FS (remix of FILMI), Nucleya, B.R.E.E.D, Sound Avtar and many, many more. Heavy with Asiatic themes, the compilation went on to top Beatport charts and was picked up by Universal Music India.

Nearly 5 years later, I felt it was finally time to unleash volume 2 of Sub Continental Bass now, as well as mark it as my final compilation in the 'dimmSummer Presents' series.

Vimana vibes abound in volume 2 as I reached deep into the High Chai family roster for what I feel is my favourite compilation to date. Among the intergalactic adventures on the mothership I'm pleased to be giving away 3 freebies via The Wild City”. – dimmSummer
