Submerge & UK Trade & Investment Announce The Exchange 2.0

15 October 2015

After a hugely successful opening edition last year, UK Trade and Investment, British Council and Visit Britain are joining forces with one of India’s leading electronic music portals - Submerge - for The Exchange 2, set to take place from 3-4 December at The Lalit Hotel in Mumbai.

The event is geared towards formulating, building and sustaining a business relationship between India and the UK, and trying to highlight the concerns within our rapidly growing music industry. The two day conference will give its participants the platform to collaborate and network with like minded people.

The Exchange will culminate with a very special musical showcase. This year will also see the launch of The Lab, described by the team as “a think tank of creative individuals breaking ground in production, design and technology.”

This edition will feature a number of big names in the industry from various areas within the music industry - right from label owners and musicians to digital distribution companies and management agencies. Some of the speakers this year will include Vishal Dadlani, Devraj Sanyal, Manasi Scott, Vir Das, Nikhil Chinapa, Salim Merchant, Rob Challice (founding partner – Coda Agency), Rishi Malhotra and more.

“India is currently one of the world’s biggest music markets and one that is quickly catching the attention of the world’s biggest music festivals and artists. The Exchange is a forum curated to put the spotlight on the potential of the Indian music industry. India is a popular destination on the world music map and is becoming a hotspot for UK acts to tour and perform. Our aim is to bring together British and Indian talent, trade outfits and industry forerunners and create an exclusive platform to amplify the future of music.” - Hermit Sethi, Director, Submerge

Tickets to the conference will be on an invite basis, if you’re interested in going you can fill out an application here on their website. For more details and updates, follow The Exchange and Submerge.in on their respective Facebook pages.
