6 August 2015

The festival hype is building as autumn and winter loom ahead, as some of our favourite festivals announce eagerly awaited first lineups and details for this year’s editions. NH7 Weekender, Ziro and Escape Festival of Art and Music all revealed information this week, so we bundled it all together for your convenience.

Here’s a little roundup of what to expect:

Bacardi NH7 Weekender

When: 23 October - 6 December

Where: NH7 Weekender spreads itself to 5 cities this year - Shillong, Kolkata, New Delhi, Pune and Bangalore. Details and exact dates here.

Music: If you were on any social media platform at any point of time yesterday you probably already know what the lineup to Weekender ‘15 is - #lineup2015 was trending by midday and the hype on Twitter and Facebook had spread to every corner of the country. The headliners this year include Mark Ronson, know best for his single ‘Uptown Funk’, the inimitable A.R. Rahman, Jamaican reggae act Wailers, electronic duo Soul Clap, and Brainfeeder founder, producer, rapper and overall ace musician we’re particularly excited for – Flying Lotus.

NH7 doesn’t skimp on homegrown talent and there are a good number of Indian bands in their lineup that we’re excited to see play. See the full lineup here (you may have to squint…).

Bacardi NH7 Weekender isn’t done announcing names just yet, so keep a close eye on their Facebook page for updates. Get your tickets here.

Ziro Festival Of Music

When: 24 – 27 September

Where: The mist shrouded, verdant hills and fields of the Ziro Valley in Arunachal Pradesh.

Music: Ziro festival revealed its first lineup two days ago via Facebook here. This edition will feature music by Dualist Inquiry, RUN It’s The Kid, Nicholson, The F16’s, Neel And The Lightbulbs, Prateek Kuhad and Myanmar band Side Effects.
