Goethe Institut & Indivibe Present Workshop + Party With Daso & Pawas

29 January 2015

Exciting times lay ahead for producers, DJs and fans of electronic music this February. The Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan in Bangalore has teamed up with Indivibe for an intensive workshop, followed by a party with Berlin based Daso and Cologne based DJ Pawas, who might sound familiar if you attended the Magnetic Fields Festival last year.

The event, which will take place on 7 February, will start at the Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan at 6.30pm with intensive workshops and talks by both musicians that aim to give attendees an insight into German electronic music, its history, where it comes from and current status. The workshop should interest anyone even remotely interested in the international electronic scene and will cover German music from Kraftwerk to Paul Kalkbrenner, the history of German club life, talks on DJing digital vs. vinyl, the Indian scenario, the technical know-how of playing live and much more. We weren’t kidding when we called it intensive. Daso and Pawas will also give some insight as to how they gauge crowds and approach music as DJs.

The workshop will be followed by a party at The Warehouse in Bangalore, which will feature a DJ set by Pawas and live set, courtesy DASO.

It’s exciting to see such a rigorous workshop conducted in India, especially one that is so informative. Terms like “underground” and “deep” are constantly thrown around, but few really know what they mean and what kind of sound these words refer to, despite our growing enthusiasm with left of centre electronic sounds.

The best part of all is that registration to the workshop is free of charge (really!) and admission will be provided on a first come first serve basis. Participants at the workshop will also get free entry to the party later on. Check out Indivibe and Goethe-Institut / Max Mueller Bhavan for more information and check out their Facebook event for updates. Follow Daso and DJ Pawas to get a taste of their sound.
