Call For Applications: Media Ambassadors India/Germany

12 January 2015

A new Indo-German fellowship program by Robert Bosch Stiftung and the International Media Center Hamburg is calling for applications from journalists. The deadline for applications is 15 January, 2015.

The aim of the ‘Media Ambassadors India – Germany’ program is to attract journalists who foster an interest in an international understanding between the two countries. The program will involve a three-month stay in the other country. The program will cover all travel costs, a monthly stipend of € 1,350, professional journalistic skill enhancement courses, an extensive cultural program and a field trip in either Germany or India, respectively.

For budding Indian journalists this is an exciting opportunity to explore German culture, society and politics in person, but also to gain first hand experience of what it takes to succeed in the media industry. ‘Media Ambassadors India – Germany’ will provide Indian fellows visiting the European nation with a one-month academic course at the International Media Center Hamburg, before putting their skills to the test by installing them at editorial departments in Hamburg or Berlin for six weeks. A field trip lasting several days shall also be included in the program.

The fellowship is open to journalists across the media fields of broadcasting radio, television, print, and online who have advanced skills in English and have proof of several years of professional experience.
‘Media Ambassadors India – Germany’ seeks to encourage understanding of each other and knowledge about each other via the program. The exchange period will take place from May-July of 2015. The selection of Indian applicants will take place on 16 and 17 February, 2015.
