TumharaFRY: A Cross Media Storytelling Project
14 November 2014
Have you ever wanted to recreate the work of a favourite author? Rewrite a book in your image? Well, if you're a Stephen Fry fan we have an amazing opportunity for you.
UnBox Festival, together with KHUBLEI and antiSOCIAL, present TumharaFRY. The initiative is an extension of the global project YourFRY, a digital storytelling project that brings together creative individuals to re-imagine cultural powerhouse Stephen Fry’s latest works. The global program was started by Fry himself, in collaboration with Penguin Random House.
Open to all creative minds across every profession, the storytelling project aims to encourage individuals to connect with a set of people and trade their skills to co-create a collective retelling. The dynamic, interactive stories will be told through mixed media and be presented to an esteemed panel (including Stephen Fry himself).
The schedule for the day will begin with a few short presentations and ideas from those who have created/co-created/recreated in several mediums - art, gaming, theatre etc.- after which individuals participating will be put into groups of 4 or 5. At the end of the day there will be many retellings, which will be uploaded and sent to the panel.
If you’re wondering what you can get out of participating (did we mention it’s free?) look no further. Besides your creation being highlighted on the YourFRY website, you will receive a goody bag with Stephen Fry products and a special invite to the after party at antiSOCIAL (courtesy of Magnetic Fields). The panel of Fry and his notable friends will also broadcast the most notable creations around the globe via their partner, WeTransfer, and award said creations with a Penguin Fry Innovation stamp of recognition for your portfolios. Ten extremely lucky participants will get free passes to the UnBox Festival, taking place in December of this year.
Want to take part? It’s very easy. Write in to email@example.com with ‘TumharaFRY’ in the subject and they will send you a short application form. Successful applicants will be informed via email with a list of resource material to look at before the 8 hour FRYsession. There are limited seats available, and the application deadline is Saturday 15 November.
The event will take place on Friday, 28 November at antiSOCIAL in Hauz Khas Village, from 10am to 6pm.
TumharaFRY is a day-long event as part of the official UnBox and Magnetic Fields Pre Party. More details on the pre party will be announced soon.
