Gibson Brings 'Through The Lens' To India

Gibson Through The Lens, an international photography exhibition comprising of sixty vintage and rare photographs of the world’s greatest guitarists, is coming to India.

This unique visual treat, a highly acclaimed and historic musical photo exhibition, will display rare visuals of some of the world’s most iconic artists enjoying private moments with their Gibson guitars; be it backstage, on the tour bus, at home or live on stage. To commemorate their 120 year anniversary, Gibson Brands Inc. has partnered with Vivanta by Taj to bring this exhibition to Indian audiences.

Curated by music photography archivist Dave Brolan, the exhibition showcases sixty signed prints - featuring the who’s who of rock royalty. Legendary guitarists such as Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, Keith Richards, Frank Zappa, Bob Marley and Eric Clapton (to name but a few) are all featured. Thirty of the music industry’s most respected and talented rock photographers have contributed to Gibson Through The Lens, including – Baron Wolman, Neal Preston, Mick Rock and the late Jim Marshall.

Previous editions of Gibson Through The Lens have been held in London, Berlin, Shanghai, Tokyo, Sydney and Los Angeles. Now it is time for the collection’s India debut. Starting at Wink, Vivanta by Taj – President in Mumbai from 29 October to 2 November, the exhibition then moves onto 4 more Vivanta cities – Hyderabad, Chennai, Bangalore and Gurgaon.
