The Aussie BBQ Returns To India With NH7 Weekender

20 October 2014

Australia’s contemporary music export initiatives Sounds Australia and Stagemothers have once again teamed up with Only Much Louder to bring you The Aussie BBQ. For the third consecutive year the Bacardi NH7 Weekender will feature exciting, young artists from across Australia, with this year’s edition proudly featuring the critically acclaimed artists Cloud Control, Sarah Blasko, Money For Rope and Peking Duk.

These four artists, first timers in India, are new additions to the Weekender’s already extensive resume of imported acts. The Aussie BBQ has a strong track record for bringing over some of Australia’s best acts to wow Indian audiences. In the last two years they have brought us the likes of Karnivool, Jinja Safari, Big Scary and Spoonbill for quality performances at the Weekender and some unforgetable club sets.

The alliance between the Weekender team, OML and The Aussie BBQ highlights the growing appreciation for Australian musicians in India, as well as the larger, more global, impact exciting indie artists are having on fanbases across the world.

The artists from down under will feature at the Kolkata and Bangalore Weekenders. If you aren’t heading to a Weekender this year, don’t fret. Special gigs for all four bands, with free entry, will take place at blueFROG Mumbai and Summer House Café in New Delhi.
