Submerge & UK Trade & Investment Set To Launch 'The Exchange'

7 October 2014

The UK music industry is all set to tie up with local homegrown talent from the subcontinent with The Exchange – an initiative by UK Trade and Investment in collaboration with Submerge – an organisation that has been instrumental in bringing commercial dance music to the country.

The 'trade mission' is set to take place between 1 and 8 November in Mumbai and will witness expert representatives from the music industry in the UK conduct seminars, workshops, conferencing and artist performances in a bid to tap into the rapidly expanding Indian music market and develop a strong British presence in the industry.

The initiative seems to be a step in a positive direction – apart from the prospect of future business and artistic collaborations between the two countries, it’s heartening to know that Indian music is being recognised outside of the peninsula. The day long Exchange conference will end in a concert that, according to their website, will be headlined by one of Britain’s “finest dance music acts”, organised with Submerge.

You’re invited to join The Exchange if you’re involved in the industry in any way. Artists, managers, promoters, record labels – basically, anyone in the industry irrespective of genre, are invited to join here. The charges for registration are £150 ($245) per head.

For more details and updates, follow The Exchange on and Submerge.in on their respective Facebook pages.
