KYTA To Showcase In Delhi This Weekend
9 May 2014
“KYTA is an experiment to investigate what happens when 10 artists travel into each other, far enough, to find only 1 result.”
Add the plot of a Luis Buñuel movie with the cast as 10 exceptionally talented artists, placed against the backdrop of a scenic Indian village among the hills and you have KYTA.
These 10 artists spanning various ages, nationalities, ethnicities, skills and disciplines were brought together for almost a month to reach a singular, synergic result. The group comprises of Ameet Singh (India) - architecture, Wei Ching (Taiwan) dance and theatre, Sanaya Ardeshir (India) – sound design and music production, Fernando Visockis (Brazil) – new media/ sound and visual art, Rashi Jain (India) – pottery, Sachin S Pillai (India) – film, and others.
Together, as a part of this residency these artists have created location specific and collaborative pieces of art, that embody a veritable form of ‘expression’. Curated by Shazeb Arif S. and presented by Hashim Qayoom and Bianca Mendonca of Karma Yatri; this artistic outcome will be present for public viewing on the 10 May, 6pm onwards at ‘Zorba’ in New Delhi.
This is an event a true art enthusiast would not want to miss. All the exhibits will be presented, alongside the artists who will be around to help you achieve a better understanding of the process, the thoughts, and the work behind the art.
