Curtain Blue To Debut In Bangalore This Week. Listen To New Track

25 March 2014

Those who have been lucky enough to catch Abhishek Bhatia a.k.a Curtain Blue recently present his solo project will know that he's one to watch.

A heady mix of live electronics, vocals, and supremely produced beats, Blue emerged from the rock music scene, as lead singer of alt/rock band The Circus, late last year. In a stark contrast to his earlier output, this is a project layered with deep and emotive electronica, yet still using a more tradional live approach.

Since the launch of his project in late 2013, he’s been consistently fusing haunting vocal melodies with downtempo and bass sensibilities, aiming to create a textural blend, which can uniquely be called his own. And within the space of months, drawing inspiration from artists such as Radiohead, Moderat and Jon Hopkins, he’s slowly carved a niche all for himself.

“I really liked this guy called Curtain Blue, who’s somewhere between Apparat and Jon Hopkins, a bit sound track-y, melancholic but really detailed production.” – Robot Koch (at Magnetic Fields Festival)

On Wednesday 26 March he'll be debuting his live show at Bangalore's The Humming Tree alongside local homeboy _RHL - as part of our series of Vital Agency showcases. A chance to get your midweek musical fix.

Don't forget Bangaloreans are expected to be back at the Indranagar hub for Berlin based Phon.o's debut performance in the city, with Wild City's Moniker and DJ Robby.
