Opeth, Nick Murphy, Kodaline, Kokoroko & More To Headline NH7 Weekender 2019

Returning to Pune’s Mahalaxmi Lawns, Bacardi NH7 Weekender has announced the lineup for its flagship edition between 29 November and 31 December.

Delighting its core fan following with the announcement of Swedish metal heavyweights Opeth as one of the year’s headliners, the festival will also feature Devoid, Underside, The Koniac Net, Bhayanak Maut and Gutslit on the heavy metal front. Meanwhile, Nick Murphy (formerly known as Chet Faker) will weave together emotive lyrics and melodies, alongside the likes of Ditty, Sid Sriram, Aarifah Rebello, Water & Rum, Saltwater and Ramya Pothuri.

Other notable announcements include 7-piece UK based Afrobeat group Kokoroko, who along with Many Roots Ensemble, Submarine In Space, Boombay Djembe Folas and The Soul will be contributing to the jazz-infused offerings. The lineup also features a wide array of indie bands, both international and homegrown, such as Black Letters, Cut A Vibe, PARVAAZ, Shorthand and Anand Bhaskar Collective, led by the Irish group Kodaline.

A notable development with this year’s festival emerged with the addition of an extensive set of hip-hop acts. Besides featuring domestic acts such as MadStarBase, Ritviz, DJ Ishani, Swadesi and Raja Kumari, the lineup will also featureLondon punk/grime act PENGSHUi alongside a showcase of J.Cole’s Dreamville label with Cozz and Earthgang.

On the electronic front, the festival will feature Israeli 3-piece Garden City Movement and homegrown acts like BLOT!, Lifafa, Sandunes, Chrms and Kavya x Chaz. Meanwhile, Bollywood playback legend Hariharan along with Sufi group Wadalis will represent the more localised music forms at the 3-day event.
