When Pandas Attack is the stage name of Ankur Chauhan, an upcoming producer from New Delhi.
Gradually garnering attention as a producer with exceptional talent, he's one that music lovers are keeping a close eye on. And rightly so. His remix of Sandunes' 'Wont You' is a telling tale of material to come.
All set to begin breaking out on his own - having played guitar for a number of bands and still performing with jazz/nu-jazz outfit 'Not For Sale' - he's expected to drop his debut solo effort in the coming months.
In preparation, this new kid on the block has offered up a bootleg of Tom Day and Monsoonsiren's epic "Love Is Rare", a track that we featured over on Border Movement - marking Monsoonsiren as the No.1 producer to watch out for in 2014. Chauhan's edit is a calm and cool cut that interweaves gliding synth melodies amongst a series of intricate drum patterns.
Stretching to almost six minutes, it's not afraid to take its time and - to Pandas' credit - is moody and stoney enough to make us not worry about how long it takes the producer to get to the end of his journey.
