Goa Clash: Nikhil Chinapa Anounces New Festival

11 October 2013

Indian ‘EDM’ ambassador Nikhil Chinapa, most famed for his Sunburn property is working with LIVE Viacom18 to present a new 5 day festival set to take place in Candolim beach, North Goa this December... at the same time as Sunburn.

After the much speculated rift between the infamous Goa party brand and Chinapa, it appears he has officially jumped/been pushed off the Sunburn ship. This was self confirmed on his Facebook page last month.

With his new festival set to take place over the same dates as Sunburn this is undoubtadely going to cause more than just a stir: “If you’ve made plans to come to Goa in December, don’t change them. Pearl and I will both be in Goa from the 26th to the 30th of December, first at a NEW music festival on Candolim beach and then finishing up with our traditional Submerge Sessions and Annual at Zanzibar and Tito’s."- Chinapa.

The press release for the new festival makes it sound like the antithisis of his former venture with a music policy that sets to incorporate underground genres, promising quality over quantity - connecting serious music enthusiasts directly with the artists they love.

“The aim of the festival is to restore the spirit of community and passion for music that’s been missing from some electronic music festivals held in India recently.”

With no further information released it's hard to know what to expect but we're pretty sure just a little drama will ensue in the lead up to the titan-esque clash that will take place in North Goa at the end of December this year.
