Red Bull Tour Bus Launches In October

27 September 2013

Taking 2250 man-hours to build, the Red Bull Tour Bus is a 36-foot long vehicle that converts into a concert stage in just under 4 hours. When on the road, it features a gaming console, a flat screen TV, a mini work station, 8 bunk beds, 12 seats and an equipment storage area.

Launching on 5 October at Mumbai’s Wilson Gymkhana, it initially aims to bring together east, west, north and south in the form of The Supersonics, Scribe, Dualist Inquiry Band and Swarathma. And that's just the launch - it's also going to be making the trip to all 4 of the Bacardi NH7 Weekenders in Pune, Bangalore, Delhi, and Kolkata.

"The idea is that fans will benefit from getting a chance to watch new emerging bands live and the bands themselves can create new legions of fans." - Red Bull

Following the tour bus launch, The Supersonics of Kolkata will take a trip alongside India’s western cities of Ahmedabad and Nashik before pulling in for the Bacardi NH7 Weekender in Pune. Dualist Inquiry Band will then move in to the bus for a trip of South India (Manipal and Chennai) before heading to Bacardi NH7 Weekender in Bangalore.

Bangalore natives Swarathma then hop on for a trip to Chandigarh and Mohali before they stop over at the Bacardi NH7 Weekender in New Delhi. And Scribe then headline the tour bus at Bacardi NH7 Weekender in Kolkata before embarking on a tour of the North East in early 2014.

Don't worry, it's not only these 4 bands performing on the bus. The website recently called for entries from bands nationwide and since August, has had over 300 applications. Only time will tell, who else will be gracing its rooftop.

You can RSVP for the launch gig via the official tour bus website here. In case you can't make it - fear not. There will be plenty of upcoming opportunities to catch the bus in action, in a town near you. Or so we're told.
