Cine-Concert: 'The General' With Live DJ Set To Tour India

20 June 2013

Following the tour of French dream pop act Isaac Delusion earlier this year, Alliance Francaise are keeping up with the ambient experimental electronica theme and bringing the cinematic audiovisual duo, RadioMentale to perform a DJ set with a difference. As part of Fete de la Musique celebrations, RadioMentale will mix live over the Buster Keaton silent film “The General” and will tour with this show from 20-27 June calling at Bangalore, Trivandrum, Chennai, Pune, New Delhi and Mumbai (tour details below).

Often described as pioneers of ‘cinemax’ an audiovisual performing practise popular in France, RadioMentale create new soundtracks for silent and classic experimental films (often by Griffith, Murnau, Keaton, Vertov and also dada/surrealist artists) but also for modern talking movies, such Antonioni’s Blow Up, Gus Van Sant’s Gerry, Brian De Palma’s Dressed To Kill or David Cronenberg’s Videodrome.

“A RadioMentale performance or sound piece, is usually a collage drawing on an eclectic range of audio sources, including sound experiments, movie soundtracks, ambient music, experimental and electronic music, natural sounds, fragment of interviews and human voice.”
