No Brostep, Commercial, Bollywood Or Bad Hip Hop: Mumbai Gets Brand New Venue

5 June 2013

With the dearth of decent venues in Mumbai and the sudden closure (of the now reopened) Bonobo, alongside more political issues, Mumbai has had its fair share of nightlife deficiency over the last year.

It seems however, that's all about to change.

This weekend, the city's newest venue, 'Mangiamo' will be opening its doors to the public. Located on Turner Road in the heart of Bandra (W), its central location and suitably experienced head programmer, none other than booth regular, DJ Uri, hope to make it the newest spot for party hungry Mumbaikars.

"We plan on having solid monthly residencies hosting local, national and international artists playing a varied range of music from house/deep house to funk, soul, hip-hop and live acts/bands. Even interactive music nights. With a truly eclectic vibe and a no nonsense cheese free musical experience, Mangiamo is gonna fill that void with funky flavours for true music heads." DJ Uri, Head Programmer

Mangiamo will be launching a series of weekender parties this Friday and hopes to consistently have hand-picked crews, artists and showcases, weekly, every Friday (9pm-1am) and Sunday (Sundowner, 5pm-10pm).

This weekend's music policy looks a little like this:

Friday 7 June - Grand Launch (9pm-1am) - Private event. Entry strictly by invite only
Line up: Broken Hartz Club (Berlin) & DJ Uri

Sunday 9 June - Sundaze Sundowner (5pm-10pm) - Free entry
Line up: Reji & Johnny B
