Mumbai Gig Preview: Give Wings To Shweta!

The American Alumni Association and women’s rights NGO Kranti are hosting a fundraising event on Thursday 6 June for a very worthy cause.
Shweta Katti is an 18 year old with a remarkable and inspiring story, the daughter of a devdasi, raised in Mumbai’s oldest and largest red-light district, she has defied the social path laid out for her and has received a full scholarship to study psychology at Bard College in New York.
While this covers basic costs, she still needs financial assistance to contribute towards accommodation, food and books. The fundraising event taking place at The Barking Deer Brewpub will kickstart with a short film about her journey which will be followed by a night of music curtsey of chaMartin hosted by Monica Dogra.
Tickets are Rs 1000 in advance / Rs 1500 on the door and include drinks and appetisers.
