Create Change: Design Writing Workshop

17 May 2013

Over the next three days, the British Council and Kyoorius (the masterminds behind India’s annual design conference Kyoorius Designyatra) will be hosting a design writing workshop led by critically acclaimed British writer William Shaw. Titled 'Create Change', the workshops have kickstarted today in Mumbai, and will take place in Bangalore and Delhi this weekend.

Through a series of discussions, exercises and assignments, participants will develop skills enabling them to not only capture but to approach and build design stories, ultimately encouraging individuals to harness a unique writing style and approach to design stories in their own context.

Selected participants will then have the opportunity to be mentored over two months by William and other writers; they will also be able to contribute to an independent publication produced by Kyoorius which will be showcased at the Designyatra in Goa 29-31 August.

This is a great opportunity for designers interested in writing or writers interested in design to learn from an internationally renowned industry expert. To take part simply send you details alongside a sample of your writing on design (this could be a link to your blog/ any published writing/design documentation) to aanchal.sodhani@in.britishcouncil.org with ‘KDY Design Writing’ as the subject. Selected candidates will be notified via email, and will be required to pay a Rs 1000 workshop fee to their closest Kyoorius office.
