Delhi Gig Preview: Glitch Please!

19 April 2013

Audio Aashram and blueFROG make a good team as past dalliances have proved. The combination tends to leave gig-goers with the kind of grungy, all-night experience that keeps them coming back, which makes us all the more eager to see what kind of fruit their latest project 'Glitch Please,' will bear.

Tonight, blueFROG will play venue host to a lineup which is as full as it is heavy. Inside the club are heavyweights like Buffapirate, BlueOrb's alter ego or Praketh Sunder to those who know him better; Monks in a Moshpit, a special collaboration between "Sir" Swagamuffin and Kaos alongside new kid on the EDM block, Tarqeeb. You can expect plenty of aural chaos here, the good kind. Sunder's music is best described by its self-description, "an amalgamation of west coast glitch-hop meeting reggae/hip-hop infused dubstep with plenty of big room breaks and funky basslines" while the Monks promise "next level" tunes and Tarqeeb, his usual genre-unbiased, quality bass music.

In addition to those three, the courtyard will see the likes of Moniker, EZ Riser (Wild City mix) and Frame/Frame, recently added to our Vital Agency roster, spinning a veritable potpourri of everything from melodic, crunchy and raw bass music to the most all-encompassing styles that spans house to techno, garage, grime and more. Not to mention EZ Riser's specialty - in keeping with the theme of the night; heavy doses of glitch-hop and breaks.

Conclusively, Delhi folk can expect the kind of aural journey that threatens to leave them only with swollen feet. Some might consider that a worthy side-effect.
