Percept Announce Brand New Festival With Extensive International Line Up

10 January 2013

We knew 2013 would throw up a lot of surprises. We just didn't know that they would be of this scale and only a week into the start of the year.

Earlier this week, Percept Ltd announced their newest festival titled Fly Music Festival. Finer details currently seem very much up in the air although the last line up announcement seemed to include Limp Bizkit, The Wailers, Robby Kreiger and Ray Manzarek (billed as The Doors), Anthrax, Deap Vally, KT Tunstall and Dub Pistols just to name a few. It's worth noting however that The Wailers have since the announcement been taken off the line up. We're hoping they'll make it back on.

Due to take place on 16-17 February at the Unitech Golf and Country Club in New Delhi and a yet to be confirmed venue in Bangalore this will be Percept's umteenth attempt at boldly breaking into the non-Sunburn festival market, first with the announcement of the yet to happen Lost Festival as well as G.O.D Festival and Windsong late last year.

“Live entertainment has the power of bringing social change. There is no better feeling than to give our crowds an ultimate music experience; we are excited to take it to the next level. Percept Live has always delivered products keeping in mind the consumer and fans. For a long time now the fans of live music (rock, metal, blues, reggae etc) have been getting a raw deal with all festivals bringing in 1 international act and repeating the same Indian acts. FLY will be the first festival that will boast a line up with a majority of international artists." - Shailendra Singh, Director, Percept

The full line up is due to be announced on the official festival website soon with a central theme being the “journey of musically harmony in the form of a road trip from multiple cities across the country culminating at the festival venue”. The journey is set to include elements such as "band on the bus, music pit stops and car pooling."

Lets hope it happens. It'll be the first major music festival of the year and a dream for music lovers countrywide. Tickets for the festival are due to go on sale today at BookMyShow although nothing seems to be online as of yet.

You can see the original line up poster below. Is that Glastonbury in the picture? I think it is.
