Converse Launches Original Band Hunt In India

Converse, through its Indian licensee, Planet Sports has just announced the launch of The Converse Original Band, an integrated music initiative geared at discovering and celebrating emerging indie music from across India.
Committed to showcasing Indian indie music, the initiative will visit Bangalore, Kolkata and Pune, culminating in Mumbai on 16 December. Over the course of 6 weeks it will push an integrated campaign weaving online advertising, social media, events and in-store activations.
The finals in Mumbai will be judged by Parikrama, with the winning band taking home a cash prize of Rs 50,000. The subsequent winners of The Converse Original Music, The Converse Original Lyrics and The Converse Original Guitarist categories will each be awarded Rs 20,000. All finalists will also be featured on a CD compilation that will be distributed in retail outlets nationwide from February to April 2013.
To take part simply submit entries to entries@converseoriginalband.com including links to at least one original composition along with a band profile and picture.
Entries are to be submitted on the following dates:
Bangalore: 16 October - 8 November 8
Kolkata: 22 October - 15 November
Pune: 22 October - 25 November
Mumbai:22 October - 27 November
