Wild City Bring Snowshoe To Delhi For Debut Show
10 September 2012
Wild City is dedicated to presenting the freshest sounds emerging out of India to new audiences. After a two month solace in less sticky climates, the Wild City team are back with a host of new events, kickstarting with SnowShoe's first ever Delhi performance. This is a band that epitomises the exciting contemporary wave of alternative electronica that is currently keeping the team on the edge of their seats.
Helmed by Sky Rabbit lead guitarist Rahul Nadkarni, this new project is built from scratches put down over the years; the bands moody, sixty minute set is a irresistible mash up of samplers, loops and live instruments. The two-piece live outfit also features fellow Sky Rabbit member, Harsh Karangale on drums. With a name chosen for its references to cats and big, lonely expanses of snow, SnowShoe bridges ambient and alternative styles, yet with a raw stage presence "allowing the listener to enter a drifting world that’s at the heart of the music."
Support comes in the shape of Frame/Frame, producer and founding member of Switch Bitch (remember this?), one of the country’s most exciting electronica acts, worth watching out for in 2012. The night will be polished off with an introduction to Moniker a.k.a Wild City DJ, his first show after a summer of touring in Europe. Expect a record bag full of the deepest and freshest jams this side of the Atlantic.
"Every physical space I perform in pushes me in a slightly different direction. So, I'm really looking forward to Delhi. It’s the first time there, it’s a new place, a new crowd and a new scene; it should be a lot of fun.” - SnowShoe
