The Essential Delhi Halloween Gig Guide 2015

Rejoice – summer is officially dead and the capital is at that sweet point when the air’s nippy, but not nippy enough to stop you from dressing slutty for everyone’s favourite made-up holiday - Halloween.

Of course, every venue in every major city is cashing in on the night with Halloween parties and gigs. We thought we’d ease that painful decision of picking where to go and what to do with a little roundup of what’s happening in Delhi tomorrow night.

Without further ado, here’s our definitive guide to Halloween parties in the capital this year:

Haunted House of bhane.

This is first on our list for a reason. The Haunted House of bhane. takes Halloween very seriously with a strict “entry by costume only” policy and ghoulish décor to die for. Last years costumes were seriously on point, so if you’re going we recommend you bring your a-game. Entry is by RSVP only. Spinning tunes will be Madstarbase.

Dia De Los Muertos at Summer House

That’s Day Of The Dead to you, so think sugar skull makeup, Mexican attire and flowers in your hair (a.k.a. lol, what cultural appropriation?). Summer House promises ‘face paint, props, music and booze’, which is a winning combination, and a night of soul, funk, r n’ b, old-skool hip-hop, trap & bass courtesy Mad J, Tonsana, MotherFunk and Swaggamuffin feat. Soopy.

Def. Col. Social Halloween

We think that the menacingly dark building that is Def. Col. Social will make for a great Halloween venue. Delhi selectors Tarqeeb & When Pandas Attack will be playing a (presumably) dn’b set, so the energy level is bound to be high. Just make sure you RSVP before they’re full.

Hauz Khas Social Halloween

If you’re brave enough to enter the village this Saturday, Hauz Khas Social looks like a promising party venue to head to. Like Def. Col., entry is free but you have to RSVP on time. Spinning tunes at the venue will be the ever-popular N*HILATE and Euphoric Mag boss man – Akshay Bhalla, a.k.a. Hoax.

Fright Night II with LBB & Monkey Bar

Little Black Book teams up with Monkey Bar and Jameson for Friday Night II this Halloween. There’ll be face painters and a free bottle of Jameson whiskey for the best dressed. Once again, make sure you RSVP on time. We don’t know what’s happening with the music here, but you can always trust LBB to throw a good party.

Halloween Hotel at Tabula Beach

Another fun event that’s taking place at pop-up venue Tabula Beach Café is Halloween Hotel, which has an in-house costume shop for Delhi’s laziest, fortune telling and more. Music courtesy Divij Kaul, Avantika Bakshi, Dokdor Daniel & Ultrafunq.

Game of Thrones Halloween Night At Boheme

“where all men must die”

The GoT Halloween Night at Boheme in Vasant Vihar is the place to be if you’re still in withdrawal post season 5 (did he really die?). It comes equipped with an Iron Throne Photo booth and unspecified “insane live music”. There’s even a special discount for the best costumes and their event page is full of delightful jargon from the series.
