Loefah

In recent years, the predominant tendency on UK dancefloors has been to defy genre, instead drawing for music with a common sense of adventure or experimentation. Loefah has been one of the key and most successful figures in that movement. Having started his career as one of early dubstep’s pioneering producers and part of the Digital Mystikz collective, he became frustrated with the genre’s limitations, so began playing and releasing (through his label Swamp81) tracks that stripped away all excess fat to leave only bass and itchy drum machine rhythms.

Youngsta

Youngsta should need little introduction. One of the figureheads of dubstep since the very beginning, resident at scene-defining club night FWD>>, and the DJ who first played some of the genre's most-loved anthems, he continues to be a hugely active figure in dubstep's development. His weekly show on Rinse draws deep for new music, helping to expose talented new producers, and the founding ethics that defined dubstep in its early years still remain at the heart of his sets.

Artists

Tarqeeb

Tarqeeb (Translation: Plan) is Ashish Jose. A seeker of hedonism through rhythm, philanthropy through music-making, he formed his moniker in the summer of 2012. The idea was always simple - promotion of quality EDM, minus the little labels and the big boxes. The only constants remain deep, groovy bass-lines, dark atmospheres and a trajectory that ultimately crescendos into high energy dance music.

Lacuna

Lacuna is the solo experimental electronic music project of New Delhi based guitarist/producer Mihir Raina. Lacuna's sound dwells in the realm of experimental music borrowing from styles including hip-hop, bass, trip-hop and jungle.

Bigfat

Aniruddh Mehta aka bigfat is Graphic Designer, Visual Artist and a DJ. He believes in no-hype, low-end bass music. His ideal night is a dark room with a good soundsystem. He is constantly exploring the larger hemisphere of dub music ranging from roots reggae to meditative dubstep. In his DJ set, you can expect everything from old school heavy weights to the latest releases on cutting edge labels.

Yung.Raj

Raj Verma aka Yung.Raj is a 22-year-old beatboxer and producer from Hyderabad. Since early 2011, he has performed with both nationally and internationally acclaimed acts like Foreign Beggars, Shri, Karsh Kale, Niladri Kumar and more, and was also an active member of popular acapella outfit – Voctronica until late 2017. He has now moved on to focus on his solo project Yung.Raj. His productions are an experiment with time, tempo and rhythm, blending numerous styles to create a sound that is truly unique and his own. His live setup involves improvisation using a loop station to blend beatboxing along with synth bass and keys.
