The Vinyl Records (aka TVR), is a four piece girl band based in New Delhi that came together in Feb 2010. The band was formed by Banu, Minam and Mithy who all hail from Arunachal Pradesh.
After almost a years hiatus from performing the girls started jamming and coming up with ideas.The final touche of the band came when they were joined by present vocalist and keytarist Cherryian Bark from Assam early in 2011. TVR describe their sound as indie rock, post punk and the sound from new wave eras of 70s and 80s when analog and early digital sound was popular, Their influences include C.S.S, the B52s, Blondie, the Clash, the Ramones, the Strokes, Arctic Monkeys; fusing indie and post punk with a dash of glam rock kitsch with the keytar!
