DJ Pierre is the stage name of Nathaniel Pierre Jones, a Chicago born DJ and performer of house music. He helped to develop the house music subgenre acid house, as member of Phuture, whose 1987 EP Acid Tracks, is considered the first acid-house recording. The first Acid House track he recorded was "Acid Tracks". Their first track was put on tape and first played in the Music Box club in the mid-1980s. Ron Hardy played it several times on its first night. It was rerecorded at Trax Records (produced by Marshall Jefferson) and released in 1986.
Not many artists in the history of dance music can list Carl Cox, Junior Vasquez, Steve Aoki, Laidback Luke, Danny Tenaglia, Michael Mayer, Bob Sinclar as fans. Not many can claim responsibilty for helping kick start the careers of Felix Da Housecat and Roy Davis Jr. Not many can lay claim giving birth to a genre and pioneering a sound that had the whole world dancing and imitating for over twenty seven years. DJ/Producer/Remixer Nathaniel Pierre Jones aka DJ Pierre is of a rare breed.
