Frequency Festival Feat. PCRC, Reggae Rajahs & more

25 February 2017
The Backroom Gardens

A one day open air music festival which shall showcase some top acts of the country spanning from live bands to electronic music producers.

SICKFLIP is an electronica solo project brought to life by Sarvesh Shrivastava - a music composer, producer and performer from Mumbai, India.
Musically, SickFlip has an indefinable mix of calm / serene / melodic vibes and atmospheres to contrasting bass-heavy / chest rattling festival smashers. The stark contrast as a mix of these sounds gives the ‘Flip’ side its resonance.
Just in a span of a few years from its emergence, SickFlip belted out worldwide digital releases on record labels like High Chai Records (US), Rub A Duck recordings (Netherlands) , Plain Dope records (UK) & Sony Music (India).

Reggae Rajahs
India's first reggae sound system. The crew of DJs and MCs are reggae entertainers and promoters based out of New Delhi. Formed in 2009, they have dedicated themselves to spreading the sounds of dub, reggae and dancehall music across India.

They frequently perform at venues throughout the country and have played at festivals such as Sunburn Festival (Goa), SulaFest (Nashik), Enchanted Valley Carnival (Lonavala), Escape Festival (Naukuchiatal) and Ragasthan (Jaisalmer). They host and curate their own stage at the NH7 Weekender Festival called the ‘Dubstation’.

Reggae Rajahs have opened for Snoop Dogg aka Snoop Lion in New Delhi and have also shared the stage with a number of established international artists such as Dub Inc. (France), Million Stylez (Sweden), Ziggi Recado (Holland), Tippa Irie, Apache Indian, Mr. Williamz, Brother Culture, Soom T, Deadly Hunta, Mungo's HI Fi, Gaudi, Dub Phyzix (all UK), Supa Bassie & Sargento Garcia (Spain), Subatomic Sound, South Rakkas Crew (both USA) and Dreadsquad (Poland) amongst others.

Laxmi Bomb
From the land of salt-pans and straight into the city, comes a local sound that provides the perfect foil as the city background. Meet ‘Laxmi Bomb’, a newly formed electro-pop outfit from ‘Bombay’, because that’s where the music comes from. A place when the city had a better name and sang a different song.

Peter Cat Recording Co. / pcrc ranges from Gypsy Jazz to Ballroom Waltz to Midnight Moonlight car chase music.
